An almost update...

Be prepared for a long blog, with many pictures, and not even being up to date completely on life over the past two months anyway. I won't judge you if you don't read this, especially since I don't really know who visits this blog anyways.

It's been such an insane past few months. Since school got out everything has been even worse, which is funny since I technically should have the time to get everything done. First we can go over some of the fun things we were able to do since my little blog hiatus:

Before the end of the semester Kyle got his mission call to Lima South, which was great! He did pronounce it Lime-uh, but that's okay, I'm sure he'll learn.

We went and saw Zack (Dad) and his Dad play at Guitars Unplugged, which was fun.

And we went to a Peruvian festival night at BYU where we saw lots of different Peruvian dances. It was a lot of fun, and our friend Eliana from Chiclayo had us over a few times for delicious Peruvian food. She's great, I think we need to eat there again before long!

Everyone left us sometime in April when the Winter semester ended and most people head back home for the summer. We did end up with a nice family dinner one time before everyone left, though I don't remember when it was....

We also had a huge Easter feast with a bunch of friends before the end of the semester. We did fairly well I must say, food was delicious, and lots of people were over.

Then things just get hectic. We've been getting wedding plans finalized, and visiting with people. America's friend Amber left for her mission to Brazil, so we went and visited with her before she left when she spoke in Sacrament.

We also saw Christina Jones, which was fun since we hadn't seen her in a while, we need to go play with her again before we leave for the rest of the summer (info coming up).

So soon enough America started Spring classes and I started working like a dog. Small cryptic updates are laced in and out of different blogs over the past few months, but basically long storIES short, we're not going to be able to go to Guatemala or anywhere for that matter for Fall semester. I'm really bummed, but okay with the fact that we'll be in Provo again for Fall. Things at BYU screwed us over a bit and we ended up in an impossible situation out of our control, and so our plans for the Fall study abroad were cancelled. We are currently in the works for planning something for hopefully next summer.

We were in dire need of a road trip or something by the time the semester was over, luckily our friends Bret and Naomi were getting married in Mesa that week. So we drove down, spent time with my buddy Patterson (from the mission) and also Melanie (...from the mission) while we were there. The wedding was really nice and we just love them!

Michele, my friend from Portland, was in town for a sheet music conference (she works at a music store in Vancouver), so we got to hang out with them as soon as we got back from Arizona, which was way fun.

After that our schedules got extremely monotonous and boring (hence the lack of blog postings).

I continued working on campus on two websites, one for the Chinese Flagship program (random I know, and no I don't speak Chinese), and another for the Women's Research Institute (again, I know, random, and no I speak women worse than I speak Chinese). Excuse the hideous beast that is the Chinese Flagship website, one of my jobs is to make it not so vomit-like, and there will be a new site in a few weeks made by your's truly. I also started working with Dr. Cole (who I have a man-crush on because he's like the most awesomely awesomest Public Health guy in the world) with his Infectious Disease class. I took the class last semester, loved it, and am so glad to be helping out with it this semester. I hope to be able to continue to do so in future semesters, it's my favorite job so far since moving to Provo. I also continue to do some web stuff on the side, so that we don't starve to death. So for the past two weeks at least I've been working around the clock, ten to twelve hours a day, and we have been pretty anti-social except for maybe with our roommates just a tad. When not working America and I have been on the wedding agenda, which is just as time consuming as everything else we're doing.

Okay, so this is getting quite long, and I'm probably losing some of you. Other news:

I had a really crappy day one day (on my Birthday, maybe because I don't really like birthdays, and America calls me the birthday scrooge.) But America threw me a surprise party, and it was great, a nice end to a crappy day.

Part of the reason the day sucked was that my lisence expired, and for many reasons, I had to get a new one, but a Utah one, so now I'm officially a Utah resident, and that makes me pretty sad.

So in other news we were able to get a bunch of wedding stuff done, but that will have to go into another blog, expect these in the next few days:

  • Wedding Updates, things are almost done!
  • A rant on "junk TV" (though all TV can be called it, particularly what I've lost time watching)
  • Trip to Portland over Memorial Day, best Portland trip ever
  • What our immediate future is looking to be (including our awesome month-long honeymoon)
  • Our new apartment, which will be sweet goodness
  • Why I don't want to register my car in Utah, and am sad to have a Utah Driver's Lisence
  • ...and probably some other junk.

More info to follow in the wedding post, but come! RSVP here, invites are out.
